Phenomenal Feast

After many weeks preparation - cooking different dishes, laying and setting tables, creating invites, and much more - the BB and GB hosted an evening dinner party. The guests were parents and a few other family members. With only limited guidance from the staff, the older boys and girls prepared and cooked a three course meal, waited on the tables, ran the mini bar, and ensured the guests were always properly looked after. Everyone involved had a wonderful evening and the parents were especially grateful. After the meal it seemed no one wanted to go home!

Junior Cake Off!

The first MBC Junior Cake Bake was a fantastic success with 20 entries across the four categories: Age 6-11 Celebration Cake, Age 6-11 Small Cakes, Age 12-16 Celebration Cake and Age 12-16 Small Cakes. All the children put great effort into their bakes and all were beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The entries included some very creative designs, from Christmas trees to hedgehogs and a cake made to look like a pizza!. After the judging and sampling by all the participants, all the children received a certificate and comments on their bake. The winners received a Measham Baptist Church Junior Cake Bake apron. Well done to all the entrants it was a most enjoyable afternoon.

Bonfire Night Goes with a Bang

The Girl's and Boy's Brigade bonfire night, as usual, was a lovely evening of fun by the fire. A large fire was lit providing lots of light and warmth and the girls made a fantastic Guy which went up in flames very quickly! There was also a fantastic array of fireworks, followed by hot-dogs (both always go down well.) The final treat of the evening was the sparklers. Everybody enjoyed writing their name with them. It was great to be joined by other members of the Church who came to support the Brigades and join in the celebration.

Testifying at Songs of Praise

On the evening of Sunday 30th October the Churches in Measham joined together to sing songs of praise. The service was hosted by Rev Vivien of St Lawrences Church. A representative from each Church chose an inspirational song or hymn sharing its meaning and why it had come to be a favourite. This gave Ian Dring the opportunity to sing his favourite 'Will Your Anchor Hold' The evening also saw Testify sharing 2 favourites penned by their very own Miles and Bowm. A joyful noise indeed!
