

Junior Cake Bake 2017
The Junior Cake Bake was another great success with over 20 colourful entries into this popular competition. There was a variety of appetizing sweet treats on display with the ever popular tasting being the highlight of the afternoon. The coveted Measham Baptist Church Aprons were awarded in four age related categories. Thank you to everyone who took part and especially the children who made the afternoon so enjoyable.


Men Get the Full English
The Globe Inn in Snarestone hosted the regular Men's Breakfast Meeting again this month. Approximately 20 gents gathered for a delicious full English Breakfast prepared by the Head Chef. The speaker for the month was John Larkin who through his work with Damascus Trust encouraged everyone to engage with the Bible. Further details can be obtained from www.damascustrust.org. A Right Royal Celebration
The 20th November saw the Queen and Prince Phillip celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary and to mark this milestone achievement we decided to have a celebration of our own marriages at Measham Baptist Church. The church was decorated from top to toe in wedding memorabilia kindly loaned by members and featured precious wedding dresses constructed from parachute silk as well as international wedding fashions. We Will Remember Them
An early start was had on 12th November to enable everyone to walk to the Measham War Memorial and join with the community act of remembrance. This was very well attended and it was made extra poignant as the children were invited to plant steel poppies as a permanent feature in recognition of Centerary of World War I this year.
